Applications in GIS
Deliverable as complete courses for
colleges, universities and technical schools, or in the form of workshops given by Digital Quest at NASA's
Stennis Space Center or the location of your choice.
In the
classroom-delivered configuration, the course is custom-tailored to
your local region, and includes data, satellite imagery and aerial
photography of your state, county and campus.
The
first half of the
course has the student work on a "demonstration project," and in the
second half the technology, process and methods are applied to the
local community.

STARS - Spatial Technology And
Remote Sensing
STARS
is targeted at Certification for the
workforce. It is a fully-developed "turn-key"
certification program for high schools, colleges and universities, and
is the first and most complete program of its kind. Students will
utilize a locally-customized
geographic
information system (GIS) to learn detailed information about their
local community, and will master the use of ArcView tools. At the
end of the curriculum an exam is administered and a portfolio submitted
for certification approval. Instructors require no prior
knowledge of GIS to teach this course; only basic computer
skills. STARS is comprised of three courses:
